MANTHAN

IN THE DARK ROOM LIT BY A CANDLE
A BLANK PAGE STARED AT ME
I TRIED TO FILL IT UP
WITH WORDS THAT MEAN NOTHING.
THERE WAS NOTHING MUCH TO SAY.
I SAW THE CANDLE FLICKER,
‘LET THERE BE LIGHT’!
THOUSAND IMAGES RUSHED THROUGH THE MIND,
THOUGHTS DANCED
HIDDEN BEHIND A THIN VEIL.
SOME WORDS TUMBLED DOWN
STOOD BRIGHT AGAINST THE WHITE
OTHERS FOLLOWED
(IT’S THE TREND NOW A DAYS!)
MEMORIES TOOK SHAPE
FRAGMENTS CAME TOGETHER
STORIES FORMED
IMAGINATION MOVED FASTER THAN MY HANDS
STORMED THE SOUL
CHURNED OUT PAINS AND DESIRES
A FAINT CRY WAS HEARD
AS IT LEFT ME,
I CLOSED THE DIARY.
